One of a kind rare tea bowl with sloping sides slightly constricted below the rim. A coarse grained nearly black body coverd inside and nearly to the bottom outside with a thick black glaze, with metallic " hare's fur" streaking which gathers in heavy droplets and welts near the bottom, the foot is unglazed revealing the dark clay. It is said that tea from the Beiyuan gardens in Beijing, spring water from Huishan and black glazed tea bowls from Jian'an were the three excellences for making the perfect beverage. Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty was a devotee of Fujianese tea and especially Jian teabowls. He proclaimed that Jian bowls with hare's fur markings were the most pleasing amongst all wares. Item comes with a signed and dated certificate of authenticity from Dream Art Gallery. Please note photo colour might deviate slightly in comparision to the original artefact.
