Colistin Sulfate

Description: Appearance: White or off-white hydroscopic powder.
Odor: Odorless
Solubility: Freely soluble in water. Sparingly soluble in methanol and ethanol. Practically insoluble in acetone and ether. Stable at the PH range of 3-7.5.
Usage: Colistin sulfate is an antibiotic of basic polypeptides constituted by various amino acids and fatty acids. It exerts positively strong effects against intestinal diseases caused by gram-negative bacilli. As a feed additive, mixing with Feed results in weight gains.
Specification: The potency is not less than 19,000 I.U. per milligram, calculated on the dried basis.
Storage: Protected from light and stored in a dry cool place.
Packaging: 20kg/carton or fabric barrel or iron drum with two PE bags inside and an aluminium foil bag as a liner.
Remarks: 1 ug of Colistin sulfate is equivalent to 30 units.

Method for preparation: Colistin sulfate premix is elaborated through a combination of soybean bran pure as the carrier and Colistin sulfate technical. It makes the feature of an even distribution of the active ingredients and fine stability.
Indications for use: It is intended for the inhibition of Gram-negative bacteria as a somatomedin either in breeding period or quiescence against intestine diseases caused by Gram-negative bacteria such as colibacillus and pseudomonas aeruginosa. When added into Feed, it exerts positive effects on the growth promotion and the increase of Feed utilization rate.
Principle
The positive free amino group of the active ingredients is combined with the negative polyphosphate in the cell membrane as well as with nucleic acid to form insoluble compounds, resulting in cell membrane damage, permeability improvement of cell membrane and leakage of intracellular phosphate and nucleic acid to kill bacteria.
Characteristics: It has strong anti-bacteria activity against Gram-negative bacteria.
Low incidence of anti-drug reactions.
No drug cross-resistance with other antibiotics.
It can not be particularly absorbed in alimentary tract. It is highly safe and in lack of residue. It is especially manufactured for healthy foods.
It promotes growth and increases Feed utilization rate.
Indications for use and dosage:
Mix thoroughly with Feed in a gradient scale, calculated with the reference to the dosage per ton.

Precautions:??1?? It can not be mixed with aureomycin, terramycin, zinc bacitracin-colistin premix and olaquindox for feeding use.
