The SC-7100 is a Voice over IP Residential Gateway integrated with Cable Modem which allows operators to implement VoIP phone services directly through Cable-Modem Broadband Network service with its built-in DOCSIS/EURODOCSIS 2.0 compliant specification.

This SC-7100 VOIP cable modem allows operators to converge both high-speed data and VOIP service on one network. By adapting the DOCSIS 2.0 standard of protocols, the TCM-7100 can offer high speed Internet service and up to two lines of primary line VOIP telephone service through RJ-11 connectors. The integrated cable modem is then connected to a PC through a 10/100 based T with an RJ-45 connector or through the USB port.
Combining with a digital video service, this VOIP cable modem allows cable operators to offer video, voice, and data services (so called triple plays) over one cable network, which have many advantages over competing service
