RMB Australia Ltd (RMBA) is the Australian operating arm of Rand Merchant Bank (RMB). RMBA, previously known as Australian Gilt Securities (AGS) is a wholly owned and guaranteed subsidiary of RMB. AGS was founded in 1982 as one of the original reporting bond dealers to the Reserve Bank of Australia. In 1988, RMB assumed control of AGS and in 1996 changed its name to RMB Australia.
From its beginnings as a bond trading house, RMBA is now a broad based investment bank with offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
